KICKER ROCK

Kicker Rock Islet, also known as “León dormido” (Sleepy Lion), is located an hour’s boat ride from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. It consists of two towering rocks that emerge dramatically from the ocean, resembling a sleeping lion, hence its name.
This place is a remarkable treasure—a result of ancient volcanic activity and erosion—comprised of volcanic tuff formations that reach an impressive height of 148 meters. The cliffs of Kicker Rock serve as a nesting and resting place for various marine birds, including Nazca Boobies, Blue-footed Boobies, and Frigatebirds.
During the snorkeling activity, you’ll have the opportunity to witness a diverse array of marine life, such as rays, sea lions, tropical fish, sea turtles, and even hammerhead sharks. Between the two rocks, there is a channel where, depending on the boat’s position, you can catch glimpses of Cerro Brujo and Puerto Grande in the distance.
